Welcome to the companion site for the 6th Edition of Descriptive Physical Oceanography.
A fully revised and updated version of the textbook that has long been a standard for introductory physical oceanography courses around the world. New to the 6th edition are an introduction to dynamics, fully expanded descriptions for each ocean and for the global ocean, and an introduction to climate variability, as well as a complementary set of exercises using the data-analysis engine Java OceanAtlas.
